Community Guidelines
Be funny, specific and human. Do not make the comments dangerous.
What belongs here
Disagreement, criticism, corrections, extra context and jokes are welcome. Address the reporting or the public actions described in it, not a person’s protected characteristics or private life.
What we remove
We remove threats, targeted harassment, hate, doxxing, sexual exploitation material, encouragement of self-harm, graphic illegal content, scams, spam, impersonation and repeated attempts to evade moderation. Profanity may be filtered automatically, but passing the filter does not make a comment acceptable.
Names are not identities
Comments and reader articles do not require accounts. Display names are unverified, so do not assume a commenter is the public figure, company or creator they claim to be.
Moderation and appeals
We may hold, remove or archive content and restrict abusive traffic. To report a comment or request a review, use the contact form and include the article URL, display name and relevant text.
Serious harm
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Australians can also report serious online abuse and illegal or restricted content to the eSafety Commissioner after using the site’s reporting process where appropriate.
